Czas przeszły (Past Simple)

The past tense in Polish describes actions that were completed at a specific time in the past.

Usage:

• To describe completed actions: Wczoraj czytałem książkę. (Yesterday, I read a book.)
• To indicate habitual actions in the past: Kiedyś biegałem codziennie. (I used to run every day.)

Aspect:

• Imperfective Aspect (aspekt niedokonany): Used for ongoing or habitual actions in the past.
  • Example: Czytałem książkę. (I was reading a book.)
• Perfective Aspect (aspekt dokonany): Used for completed actions.
  • Example: Przeczytałem książkę. (I finished reading the book.)
