Download Duolingo Vocabulary

Duolingo no longer makes it easy to see or download your vocabulary list.
With the free Lingo Champion browser extension, you can download your known and learning words from Duolingo in just a couple of clicks. Save them to a file or clipboard, then use them anywhere — in Lingo Champion, Anki, spreadsheets, or other flashcard tools.

Why download your Duolingo vocabulary?

  • Backup your progress outside Duolingo.

What you’ll need

  • A Duolingo account with at least one active course.
  • The free Lingo Champion browser extension installed in your browser.

How to download your words from Duolingo

Download Duolingo vocabulary

  1. Install the extension from the Chrome Web Store.
    Works in Chrome, Edge, and other Chromium-based browsers.

  2. Go to Duolingo’s “Words” page for your target language:
    https://www.duolingo.com/practice-hub/words

    If no words appear, Duolingo doesn’t provide a public list for that course — download isn’t possible.

  3. Click “Import words” in the toolbar added by the extension.

  4. Choose how to download:

    • Copy to clipboard — paste straight into Google Sheets, Excel, or any text editor.
    • Download as TXT — tab-separated format, ready for Anki, spreadsheets, or other apps.

  5. (Optional) Send directly to Lingo Champion to:

    • Practice with flashcards (SRS).
    • Filter news, stories, and books by your word list.
    • Translate words automatically while browsing.

Export formats

  • Clipboard — quick paste into other apps.
  • TXT (tab-separated) — includes word, translation, and extra info from Duolingo.

Troubleshooting

  • No words appear — some Duolingo courses don’t have a public words list.
  • No “Import words” button — ensure the extension is installed and enabled, then refresh the page.
