Formation:

The Futuro Anteriore is a compound tense formed by using the auxiliary verbs avere (to have) or essere (to be) in the Futuro Semplice, followed by the past participle of the main verb.

  1. Using Avere:

    • Most verbs use avere as the auxiliary.
  2. Using Essere:

    • Verbs of motion or change of state, as well as reflexive verbs, use essere as the auxiliary.
    • The past participle must agree in gender and number with the subject when using essere.
