Fremtid (Future)

The Fremtid is used to describe actions that will happen in the future. It is commonly used to express intentions, plans, predictions, or expectations about the future.

The Fremtid in Danish is used with the indicative mood, which expresses certainty or factual statements about actions that will happen in the future.

Usage:

  • To describe future actions: Jeg vil rejse til Spanien næste sommer. (I will travel to Spain next summer.)
  • To express intentions or plans: Vi vil flytte til en ny by. (We will move to a new city.)
  • To make predictions or assumptions: Det vil regne i morgen. (It will rain tomorrow.)

Formation:

The future tense in Danish is formed using the auxiliary verb vil (will) or sometimes skal (shall) followed by the infinitive of the main verb.

Use of "Skal":

In some contexts, skal (shall) can be used to express a more certain or planned future action:

  • Snart (soon)
